Laine has been very听involved in a number of facets this semester. As President of , Laine has aided the organization in听raising听membership from 12 to 40听people through their leadership. Laine is also a member of the IT student team and an .
Laine’s nominator stated: “Laine was one of the first students to speak at the National Coming Out Day panel, and the first trans person to speak about their experience at this event.”
“Laine puts consistent effort in every part of managing the club, and inspires the people around them to be leaders themselves. So many people who would otherwise not participate in group discussions have become active contributors to weekly meetings.”听听
