From numbers to narratives, Adelphi faculty explore how health contributes to our collective bottom line.
These are the stories behind the big questions, the thought-provoking findings and the collaborative work happening across disciplines on our campus and beyond.
These are the stories of the people and projects that contribute to the transformative educational experience at Adelphi.
Our annual publication celebrates the passion for discovery at Adelphi, highlighting the latest research and creative output of our faculty members and their students. You’ll read about their contributions to the sciences, social sciences, healthcare and humanities; their creative works; and deep commitment to passing forward their love of knowledge to our students.
Life in the aftermath of a pandemic made more apparent the critical, complex link between our health and financial well-being—from its impacts on our individual lives to the swings of the global economy.
At 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, our faculty has seen the signs of this connection and created a body of research that seeks to understand it. Across many disciplines, their work reveals how physical and mental health profoundly affects financial stability, while the reverse is just as true. From the economic impact of chronic illness and unaddressed mental health issues to how childhood physical activity shapes adult financial outlook, the association is clear; their research illuminates pathways forward that can improve the physical and financial health of society.
Inside, you’ll also be treated to a glimpse of (and a listen to) the creative work of our arts faculty, and multidisciplinary research that spans fascinating topics—from using machine learning to track the impact of climate change on birdsong, to identifying the roadblocks to widespread adoption of electric vehicles. Our endangered planet has costs upon our finances and our well-being.
I hope you dive into the innovative work of our faculty and witness for yourself the many ways they are actively creating the next generation of scholars among our students.
