With the increasing emphasis on innovation in organizations, researchers are beginning to explore new ways for thinking about innovation. The 91Թ is proud to host two professors from Mälardalen University, Eskilstuna, Sweden who will lead a seminar on “Emergent Innovation Through University/Industry Collaboration,” to take place on October 17, 2012, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Ruth S. Harley University Center room 212, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. Tomas Backstrom is a professor of Innovation and Product Realization (IPR) and research leader. Erik Lindhult is a professor of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (IPR). Emergent innovation is increasingly recognized as a critical driver of success in complex markets. It involves seeking out, recognizing and promoting innovative activities already at work in the organization.
University/Industry researchcollaboration is a globally growing trend in business education.In this seminar, Professors Tomas Backstrom and Erik Lindhult will discusswhat they learned while theypursued ground-breaking researchthrough collaborative relationships with global market leaders including Ericsson and global technology group ABB.
