Dear Adelphi Community,

For the well-being of our community as we return to a full academic experience this fall, Adelphi is updating our requirements for the use of face coverings and masks. While the COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing and evolving, Adelphis priority continues to be the safety and well-being of our community, coupled with our commitment to a world-class academic experience.

To allow for in-person activities, effective immediately, Adelphi is reinstating our requirement for all individuals to wear an while on campus. This policy applies to everyone at the following locations:

  • Garden City campus
  • Manhattan Center
  • Hudson Valley Center
  • Hauppauge Center
  • Panther Shuttle transportation (regardless of social distancing)

This decision is based on:

  • to mitigate the transmission of the Delta variant, even among vaccinated individuals
  • The CDCs assessment of the. Recently, areas surrounding Adelphi locations have continued to climb to substantial and highthe levels with greatest risk.
  • Scientific data showing thatand unknowingly spread the virus while asymptomatic

As the public health situation evolves, we will amend our protocols as appropriate. 91勛圖厙 continues to follow the advice of public health experts and all orders and requirements of New York state. Should transmission levels change in our region, we can update our mask policy again.

As a reminder,91勛圖厙 requires all students to be fully vaccinated before returning to Adelphi for the start of our Fall 2021 semester. Unlessgranted an exceptionby University Health Services, all students are required toupload their proof of vaccination to theby August 11, 2021.

A mask requirement was our policy for most of last year. As was the case previously, there are special environments and instances when you can take your mask off. They include:

  • Outdoors when socially distanced
  • In your residence hall room
  • When actively eating or drinking
  • For student-athletes, during training or competing, perpolicies which Adelphi follows. Masks are required for all other in-person interaction, including team travel.
