Announcing new scholarship opportunities available to students in 2014-15.
We are thrilled to announce that the听 will be available听to students beginning in Academic Year听2014-2015. Students must be Spanish听majors who have completed 30 credits in听the major, have demonstrated significant听financial need, and have at least a 2.7 GPA.
We are extremely grateful to Mr. Hartmann,听who was honored at our awards听ceremony this past April (see p. 3: “Language Students Win Entry into National Honor Societies, Awards”)
Secondly, we wish to share the good news听with you that the endowments of the听Foreign Language Writing Contest and听the Prottas Entrepreneurship endowment听will be merged to create the new听.
This award will be open to majors and听minors in French, Italian or听Spanish. Sincere thanks to Prof. Dave听Prottas from the School of Business for听creating this fantastic opportunity.
We are also extremely pleased to announce听a third new scholarship opportunity,听,听created by Trustee Patrick Smalley in honor听of his family鈥檚 heritage. This endowment听provides scholarships to students听minoring in Italian. Eligible undergraduate听students (3.0 minimum GPA) who听wish to study abroad in Italy may apply听the scholarship funds to fees related to听their study abroad experience.
