Jessica Benjamin, Ph.D.

Jessica Benjamin, Ph.D., will present her paper, 听on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 7:00 p.m., as part of 91吃瓜网鈥檚 annual Lindemann Lecture in Human Development. The lecture, which is hosted by the听听and is open to members of the Adelphi community, will be held at the Scholastic Building, 557 Broadway, New York, NY.

Dr. Benjamin is a practicing psychoanalyst in New York City, where she is a supervising faculty member at the New York University Postdoctoral Psychology program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis as well as a founding board member and faculty member of the Mitchell Center for Relational Studies. She was a cofounder of the International Association of Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and the journal听Studies in Gender and Sexuality.听She serves on the editorial board of听Psychoanalytic Dialogues. She is known as a contributor to the development of relational psychoanalysis and its interrelation with feminism as well as the theory of intersubjectivity. She is the author of three books:听The Bonds of Love;听Like Subjects, Love Objects; and听Shadow of the Other. Her book听Beyond Doer and Done To: Recognition Theory, Intersubjectivity and the Third听听is due out in 2015.
