What is a Preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation?
Your Preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation is your first official look at how your credits from previous institutions will transfer to Adelphi. It鈥檚 a powerful tool to help you and your academic advisor plan your first semester and understand your path to graduation. Once we receive all your final, official transcripts, your evaluation will be finalized and will become the basis of your official academic plan.
Understanding Your Preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation
You will receive an email notification as soon as your evaluation is ready. You can find it by logging into your .
First, confirm that all institutions you’ve attended are listed, including any for Advanced Placement (AP) or dual-enrollment credits.
If anything is missing, please so we can keep your application moving. An official transcript will also need to be sent directly to us by your school. If you have any questions, your admissions counselor is here to help.
This is the total number of credits that have been applied toward your Adelphi degree.
Remember, we accept a maximum of 90 total transfer credits鈥攚ith a maximum of 64 credits from a two-year institution and 30 credits from high school.
Your transfer credit evaluation shows how your transferred credits apply to Adelphi鈥檚 PATH (general education) requirements. You鈥檒l see which requirements you鈥檝e already fulfilled and which are still needed.
Completed an Associate鈥檚 degree? You may have your PATH requirements substantially met or waived.
Your academic advisor is your partner in this process. Once you鈥檝e reviewed your evaluation, share it with your advisor to plan your remaining PATH and major requirements and confidently register for your first semester.

- Course Equivalency: Courses often transfer as a direct equivalent to an Adelphi course or as general elective credit
- Grade Policy: Credit is typically awarded for grades of C- or higher in subjects analogous to those offered at Adelphi
- Non-Transferable Courses: Seminar, orientation, remedial, or vocational courses usually do not transfer
If you had courses in progress when you applied, they will appear with 0 credits and a grade of 鈥淚P.鈥�
Once your final official transcript with grades is received, these courses will be evaluated, and your evaluation and degree plan will update automatically.
