  • Final capstone project: Your final capstone project draws on all the analytical, financial and programming skills you’ve learned. You’ll analyze genuine financial risk scenarios—such as portfolio risk, interest rate exposure or market volatility—and develop data-driven solutions that add value.
  • A hands-on curriculum: Analytical projects are abundant in our curriculum. In many of your courses, you’ll work with real or simulated datasets to build predictive models, evaluate investment strategies and design risk mitigation methods.
  • The James Riley Jr. Trading Room: Step into the “engine room” of finance. This professional-grade facility is equipped with the same Bloomberg terminals used by Wall Street financial professionals, bringing the global markets to Garden City—along with the opportunity to earn your Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certification.

Admission Requirements

The program is open to any bachelor’s degree major, but engineering, math, statistics, physics, economics, econometrics or finance backgrounds are preferred.

Applicants for the program should submit the following application requirements:

  • Graduate application and $60 fee
  • Official transcripts from all prior institutions and proof of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
  • A letter of recommendation (academic or professional) – optional
  • Submit a 500-word statement describing your interest in Financial Analytics and Risk Management, your relevant academic or professional background, and how this program will help you achieve your career goals
  • Résumé including internship and work experience related to the program
  • Course-by-course evaluation: All graduate applicants with undergraduate-level work completed outside of the United States will be required to send a course-by-course evaluation of their academic work prepared by a NACES member organization.
