91³Ô¹ÏÍø is proudly designated by BridgeUSA, under the direction of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, as an approved sponsor of the J Exchange Visitor Program.

This designation enables 91³Ô¹ÏÍø to welcome talented international scholars and students who enrich our academic community through research, teaching, professional observation, and educational exchange opportunities across our eight Colleges and Schools.

Exchange Visitor Categories

91³Ô¹ÏÍø is authorized to sponsor eligible individuals in the following J-1 Exchange Visitor categories:

  • College and University Student

Maintaining J-1 Status

To maintain lawful J-1 status, exchange visitors must comply with all requirements associated with their specific exchange visitor category.

Health Insurance

Federal regulations require all J-1 Exchange Visitors and J-2 dependents to maintain qualifying health insurance coverage for the entire duration of their program.

Two-Year Home Residency Requirement

Some J-1 Exchange Visitors are subject to the Two-Year Home-Country Physical Presence Requirement, commonly known as Section 212(e)
